H. Stanley Rebert
District Attorney
Stan "The Man" Rebert is a graduate of Brown University and received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Boston University School of Law. Prior to becoming District Attorney, he served as Public Defender and had a successful private criminal practice. In 1986 Stan decided to wear the white hat and campaigned successfully for District Attorney. Having taken hundreds of cases to jury trial, he boasts a 95% conviction rate and eight (8) death penalty sentences - truly a prosecutor's prosecutor.
District Attorney Rebert is York County's first full-time District Attorney, and has been its premier law enforcement official for the past 22 years, having been overwhelmingly re-elected five (5) times. His administration continues to have an outstanding conviction rate, and he is responsible for any number of model programs, including, but not limited to, the Drug Task Force, the Victim/Witness Program, the Special Crimes (Child Abuse, Juvenile and Domestic Violence) Unit and Treatment Courts.
"As a quasi-judicial officer, the District Attorney seeks justice-equal and impartial. And it is as much his duty to see that no innocent man sufers, as it is to see that no guilty man escapes" Stan recognizes this time-honored principle and continues to be dedicated to the prosecution of criminals, while recognizing the rights of the innocent and protecting the safety and welfare of York County citizens.
