Information: York County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that will help solve this crime.
On January 4, 2007, unknown person(s) intentionally placed over 50 large broad headed roofing nails in a grass parking area adjacent to a barn in the 600 block of Fairview Drive in West Manheim Township. This spot is commonly used by West Manheim Police to conduct speed enforcement details.
At about 8:30 P.M. an officer was in the parking area and timed a speeding vehicle. He stopped the vehicle, issued a citation, and returned to the parking area. When he pulled out from the area he heard a clicking sound in the tires. He stopped and found ten nails in all four tires.
Investigation revealed over 50 nails placed point up in the tire tracks that were left by the police vehicles. All four vehicle tires were damaged at a cost of over $500.
